IX Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
Primary duties include assisting in the completion of the IX design by coordinating with contractors to construct and install process equipment per approved design plans. Following the installment, the IX Technician will operate IX unit(s) as directed within all safety and environmental regulations. In addition, the IX Technician will conduct analytical testing for process control and new process development. IX Technician will assist in training new operations personnel as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Learn and understand all facets of the IX process including P&ID’s
• Participate in the start up and commissioning of all IX equipment
• Conduct day to day operation of IX equipment to produce iodine eluate
• Assist in development of operational, safety and environmental procedures
• Resolve variance issues and develop and maintain BOMs, schedule and track production and production components, and advise commercial team on product/package decisions pertaining to production
• Assist in design of new modifications to existing systems
• Advise tollers on production requirements to increase productivity and improve utilizations parameters and consumptions
• Build BOMs and cost products
• Track and manage cost associated with production and shipping
• Assist in direction of construction contractors
• Coordinate supply of all materials and components to the site
• Collect and maintain process, cost, environmental and safety documentation
• Conduct analytical testing for process control and new process development
• Provide documentation for shipping and receiving from unit(s) as required by DOT

Requirements:
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in Science or Engineering with 2 years production or engineering experience
• Five years plant or pilot plant operations experience in lieu of degree
• Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Drawings
• Ability to carry out detailed operational instructions and work within the operations team
• Thorough knowledge of processing equipment and ability to operate advise, and troubleshoot processing equipment with an understanding as to what each process step does, interacts and delivers and ability to advise and troubleshoot process issues
• Understanding of analytical tests and test methods and the ability to recommend alternative tests and set specifications for those tests
• Understanding of OSHA, EPA and DOT requirements and the ability to conduct field audits of facilities and recommend/advise facilities of corrective actions
• Thorough knowledge of systems related to production and inventory control
